A toy that defines a childhood is so very hard to find May 06, 2006

This is an all time favourite doll of mine and I am so glad that they are still in production. This is a doll that defines your childhood and though I was older than most children when I was given one of these dolls by an American friend of the family I cherish the memory even now and I would recommend any moms and dads out there to get their little girl one of these dolls, be she three or ten years old.
Raggedy Anne is for any child of any race, creed or religion, she is so loveable, no plastic about her, she is cloth and stuffing through and through and her woollen red hair is a delight to behold as are her shabby-chic clothes and a moon round face that is go ugly it is beautiful along with those red striped legs, don't they just make you cry with laughter when you look at them?
Childhood is about innocence and this doll is innocence personified, and she is as cuddly as she looks, I just wish someone would buy me another one because even after all these years I miss my Raggedy Anne doll.

We were looking for a toddler-safe Raggedy Ann doll for our daughter's one-year-old birthday present. Although this doll does have button eyes, it was the only Raggedy Ann we found that is safety rated for children under age 3 even though other dolls we found have cloth eyes. The doll is very well constructed; we agree that the way the eyes are sewn into the head, they seem very unlikely to pose any safety risk. The moment our daughter saw the doll, she gave it a huge hug. It immediately became one of her favorite toys. Be warned that the doll is big (it's about as tall as her) and comes with a safety warning that children should not sleep with it in their cribs. Nonetheless, we would highly recommend this product.

I ordered this Raggedy Ann doll for my grand daughter's first birthday. It is quite large at 30" for a one year old, and she was mesmerized by it. I use to hand make small Raggedy Ann dolls and so I was really surprised to find how well made this doll is. My only disappointment is it does not come in it's own box for wrapping only in the brown shipping box. But it is a good choice for a little one and the price is reasonable.

She's as big as my granddaughter (who's 3). What a keepsake. I also bought a Raggedy Ann book so she could hear stories about Raggedy Ann.
