This was purchased for my daughter's first birthday. It just arrived in the mail about 10 minutes ago. Even though I am Caucasian, I do not like to buy blond haired blue eyed dolls. This doll's skin color is perfect and just what I wanted! She has a nice deep tan - same as mine, dark brown hair (not black) and brown eyes. If I had to racially classify this doll she would probably be considered Hispanic or Bi-racial. The quality is fantastic and she is very soft. My daughter's birthday is 2 weeks away and when she saw the doll she flipped out and wanted her immediately. I tried taking the doll to the other room (so I could give it to her on her actual birthday) and my daughter clearly became upset. So I removed Stella from the box and my daughter is laughing and hugging and cuddling her. I had no idea a baby could have so much fun with a doll!

We love this doll. She is very soft and adoreable. My 2 year old granddaughter loves her. I like the pacifier because it doesn't have a nipple (she is just learning to make it through the day without a pacifier) so she won't be tempted to use the babydolls pacifier as a substitute for hers. And its magnetized, so it stays on the babys mouth. I do wish it had a small ribbon or something that attaches it to the babydoll, as we have had to search for the pacifier a couple times after our granddaughter pulled it off and left it laying somewhere. But other than that small issue, its a perfect babydoll for a younger baby. Nothing to pull off and put in their mouth. Even the pacifier is soft cloth. This is a great babydoll!

The measurement states 15 inches, but this doll is no way 15 inches. Perhaps if you measure from the tip of her hair (not head) and stretch her legs out, then she might be 15 inches but if you measure from tip of head to legs, the doll is only 12 inches. It's a good size for a toddler but probably too small for older kids. Also, the beige doll is much darker than what's shown on Amazon photos. What I do like about this doll is that she is washable and does not contain any fire retardants!!

I have been eyeing Baby Stella for months now, in fact, I almost purchased her for my daughter when she turned one in September. However, at the time, my daughter wasn't showing much interest in pretend play so I tucked the idea of Baby Stella away for Christmas. When she arrived, she was neatly packed in a little box but we were able to feel her softness without having to remove her. This was exciting because I was able to check her out without having to wait until after Christmas. When my daughter finally opened her up, she seemed very interested in her from the get go. Mind you, my daughter is 15 months old and very new to the baby doll world. None the less, she knows just who Baby Stella is and she totes her around with her for long periods of time. She even says "bay-buh" when she sees her! Overall, Baby Stella is VERY well made, soft and cuddly, and contrary to what another review has said, the beige version of this doll is NOT darker in person than what you see online. I found her to be just perfect!
A super alternative to hard plastic dolls, for kids who like to cuddle Dec 15, 2009
5 stars for this baby. The magnetic pacifier is a ton of fun. Just like a real baby, you will find yourself pulling all kinds of small objects away from her magnetic mouth. The doll is well made of very soft material and her skin color is a wonderful warm tan. Unlike other cloth dolls Baby Stella is very 3D and detailed, belly button, fingers and toes, etc. She has all the advantages of a plastic baby without the cold hard plastic.
