 Pretty cute for a baby... Dec 19, 2011

Overall the idea for this book is pretty cool. The tails are cute, the crinkly pages are fun to crinkle, and the horse noise on the cover page is fun to listen to. However, the tails are a bit confusing as it is hard to distinguish which tail belongs to whom sometimes. I got this for my guy when he was 9 months old, and I can't imagine him being able to figure out which tail belongs to whom for another year or so. I wish the pages corresponded to the tails, if that makes sense. Also the story is verrrrrry lame. "Hello Duck-Where's your tail? It's swimming behind me, cow. Hello pig-where's your tail? It's wiggling behind me, chick". Anyway, hope you get the idea. Lame! But honestly, it doesn't matter, because the babies love this book for the hangy tails, crinkly pages and cute pictures inside. I give this book 4 stars only because of that. The babies absolutely LOVE it for it's design. The content sucks, but they don't care about that. :)

My two month old baby loves this book so much. It has bold black outlines and really bright colors that capture his attention. He also likes the crinkly sound. It can calm him when he starts to get fussy. I have other jelly kitten books for him and he loves them all!!

My son is completely uninterested in this book. For a 1-year old, I think it's not exactly clear which tail belongs to which animal as they are some of the tails intended for the animal on the next page are confused with the page you are on. It would be a great book for a small infant newborn to 9 months who would enjoy the crinkly pages, or just the fun of pullling on the tails and chewing on the book.

Bought this for 4 month old granddaughter. She loves it. It appears to be her favorite toy right now. She can easily grab the tails, the book is very light weight so her little hands can handle it, and she loves the crunchy noise it makes. Lots of color for her to see, too.

This book was a gift when my daughter was 3 months old. She's 6.5 months now, and it's still her favorite. We don't bother to read the "story" as it's super lame-o -- we can make up better ideas -- and the horse sound effect built into the cover is nearly impossible to hear.
That said, I still had to give this 5 stars because my daughter can't get enough of it. If she hears it crinkle, she immediately looks around for it. And if she's grumpy, we can hand it off to her and she'll settle in to crunch it, chew on it, and throw it around. Some of the other toys only hold her attention for a short while, but we can always depend on this book.
