I'm glad Gund still means quality Dec 24, 2008
I receieved a Gund plush bulldog when I was a boy. Although it grew threadbare with age, I was able to pass it on to one of my children later in life. I wasn't sure if the Gund toys on the market today would carry on the tradition of superior workmanship that that lent to a toy becoming something of an heirloom. While only time will tell in the long term, from what I've seen of this wonderful bear, a gift for one of my daughters, chances are good that it will be around in another 20-30 years, too!
All of the seams seem stong, and it has already withstood some wear and tear (our daughter has four younger siblings who are often grabbing for her bear). It has a look that is adorable, and it is suprisingly soft and huggable. The scarf makes it a perfect gift for a winter baby, a Christmas gift, or even a keepsake to remember some fun winter getaway.
A NOTE ON HEIGHT

The 14" height refers to the full length of the bear, not its height when seated. Sitting up on the table, next to my laptop, its ears are at the top of my screen (about 10" tall). When we first saw it (fresh out of the box), we thought about getting a larger one, but this one has turned out to be just right--large enough for a 2nd-grade girl to cuddle, but small enough to carry around. Right now, the bear is with us on a little winter getaway. It's a great little bear!

Love this bear. Lots of personality. Cuddly and huggable. Great gift for any age even adults. Shipping was great and priced right. Would get again for a gift and last longer than flowers.
