Great gift for Cookie Monster fans Sep 02, 2008 I purchased this Cookie Monster puppet for my girlfriend's birthday. She loves that his hands are essentially gloves... which means you (as the puppeteer) have the finger dexterity to pick up COOKIES and shove them into the mouth of the puppet, which can munch away under the control of your other hand.
After testing, we recommend hard sugar cookies for this puppet. They only produce crumbs, but no stains.
When not in use, Cookie can be displayed and posed like any other stuffed animal - an added bonus.
Personally, I would have paid considerably more money for this toy if his fur was the correct color dark blue, and (most importantly) if he had hard plastic eyes with spinning pupils.
As he is, however, The 27" Cookie Monster Puppet is a well made toy that is a total blast to play with at any age.
Ommm nom, nom, nom (oh, delicious) nom, nom (yeah) nom!

Almost Like Having the Real Monster Dec 28, 2007 As of now, this is the closest product to a Cookie Monster replica available. Well worth the price. It serves well as a large plush toy, having a soft, furry body. When not in use, I have it sitting in the back seat of my car. All of the puppet features work great. The mouth is controlled by putting your hand through a soft hole directly in the back of the head. This allows for easy mouth control, as well as neck movements. His hands are like attached gloves and each finger moves freely. You can get him to make a fist, point his finger, give a thumbs up, or even use the middle finger profanely. I work with developmentally disabled people and my client fell in love with Cookie Monster right away, unable to resist embracing him. Get yourself into character and this guy will come to life, becoming an instant hit with everyone. As far as durability, I was afraid that Cookie Monster would shed, but he has held up very well. It would have been nice to have googly eyes, but other than that, this guy is near perfect.
